Fr Matthew the Poor (Matta El-Meskeen) (1919 - 2006) was a Coptic Orthodox monk & spiritual father to the monks of the monastery of St Macarius the Great in Wadi El Natroun, Egypt.
He is the author of numerous books & articles, his most notable English titles being: The Orthodox Prayer Life, Words for our Time and The Communion of Love.
This video aims to enrich the English-speaking world through the voice of this great contemporary desert father.
