'More are coming on board' to deliver vaccines across regional Australia

The Minister for Regional Health Dr David Gillespie says 3.7 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered to 2.5 million individuals in regional and rural Australia.

"The Morrison Joyce government is delivering across a wide ... land," Mr Gillespie said.

“There’s 1500 in regional and rural Australia who are delivering vaccines and have been. More are coming on board as well. 73 of the community Commonwealth vaccination centres are indeed in regional Australia.

“There are 125 Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations that have delivered to 148,000 Indigenous and other people who attend their centres.

“We have also announced that in remote Australia and in Indigenous communities, Pfizer is available including to 12-15 -year-olds and those with chronic medical conditions.”

Mr Gillespie said there are 375 pharmacies across regional Australia delivering vaccines to individuals to protect them against COVID-19 with more to “come on board”.
