Trump advisor, confidant and all-around lackey Steve Bannon appeared in court in his contempt of Congress case. Bannon's case presently is set for trial in July. However, it is very unlikely that trial date will hold.
Federal prosecutors rarely go to trial in a stand-alone, once count case when they have evidence that the defendant has committed other related crimes that could be indicted in the future, which, based on public reporting, seems very likely in Bannon's case.
This video discusses the long game federal prosecutors play with a guy like Bannon and why we can expect to see superseding indictments prior to Bannon's July trial date.
