Strange video out of Kissimmee, Florida this week, where a first place runner was sucker punched and knocked to the ground by another athlete during a long distance event.
The athlete did eventually get back to his feet and rejoin the race, but dropped out before finishing, citing head pain.
Unfortunately the video was posted anonymously with no background or descriptions on what led to the event or what happened immediately following the race.

Update: Tiger Invite, 3/26, 1600 meter run. Eyewitnesses reported the athlete in the black singlet was standing unaware in lane one when shoved aside by the passing runner. On the next lap the athlete again placed himself in the lane, this time intentionally. Once again there was an altercation, prompting the chase-down yeet. On the running forum letsrun, user 'LRR' wrote that the victim hit his head on the concrete extending from underneath the track. The user claims the victim is currently in concussive protocol. Police were on hand and interviewed the parties. No charges have been filed.
