No one took anything! I had the idea a number of years ago (as I'm sure anyone else who has been criticized for how they use a file) and bought the files then to run the test, but never got around to doing it. My hat is off to Fireball Tools for actually doing it and doing it in such a scientific way.
Tool wear out and the experienced efficient worker strikes a balance between how how fast he needs to get the job done and how much he can pamper his tools. And that VARIES by situation. Sometimes you JUST NEED TO GET IT DONE! and if it ruins a tool in the process, that's part of the cost. When I was working in commercial construction as a contractor, I had to buy all of the tools I used and regularly wore those tools out GETTING THE JOB DONE! It's called the REAL world - reality - not the fantasy that most people seem to be "living" in today.
