For me, and it’s not always easy to do, I try to do things with the intention of proving myself right, not proving others wrong.

That’s served me really well in recent years and it may for you too because ultimately, your opinion of you is of paramount importance. Showing yourself your own capabilities is empowering and you damn well deserve it!
