This morning, officers returned to the home of Tyrrell's foster grandmother — where he was last seen in September 2014 — and began searching an area directly below a second-storey balcony.

A cadaver dog, used to detect human remains, has been scouring the property too. Police are also scanning an area of bush about 1 kilometre away from the house.

Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said there was "one person in particular" detectives were focusing on as their investigations into the three-year-old's disappearance continued.
