China will basically establish new, secure and reliable digital infrastructure by the year 2025, according to a plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Tuesday.

The plan proposes 26 development priorities and 21 projects, highlighting efforts to build new digital infrastructure, expand space for digital development, establish a new industry management system and other fields.

By 2025, the information communication industry will see further progress, with the new digital infrastructure being quick, wide covering, integrated, interconnected, smart, green, safe and reliable.

Compared to the previous plans, the latest one has stipulated the position and function of the industry while encompassing eight new digital infrastructure indicators such as 5G, 1000M fiber optic networks and industrial Internet.

China has so far achieved more than 450 million 5G cell phone terminal connections, and its 1000M fiber optic networks are now capable of covering more than 240 million households, being one of the leading countries in the world.

規劃提出26個發展重點和21個項目，突出著力打造新型數字基礎設施、拓展數字化發展空間、建立新型產業管理體制等領域。

到2025年，信息通信產業將進一步發展，形成快速、廣覆蓋、融合、互聯、智能、綠色、安全、可靠的新型數字基礎設施。

與之前的規劃相比，最新的規劃明確了產業定位和功能，涵蓋了5G、1000M光纖網絡、工業互聯網等8項數字基礎設施新指標。

截至目前，我國5G手機終端接入量已超過4.5億個，1000M光纖網絡覆蓋2.4億多家庭，是世界領先國家之一。
