Xiaomi is expected to launch, its next gen flagship Mi 12 series, earlier than the previous generations. Undoubtedly, the device will sport, top notch specs and features, and now today a new report from popular tipster Digital Chat Station, claims that it will also arrive with certain changes in design, and whole new packaging process.
It is said that, the new packing process would enable the Chinese tech giant ,to further narrow down the bezels and chin of the device, which would make for a better viewing experience. Furthermore, the tipster also added, that the curved display in the flagship lineup, will be replaced with a hyperboloid solution. The smaller bezels also imply, that the device will offer a higher screen to body ratio, than its predecessors.
The tipster also claims, that there would be changes in the arrangement of the triple camera, and that the device will also adopt a new design. He stated that the module will now include a partition design, which would apparently add to its aesthetic appeal. Notably, the blogger also said ,that the new camera setup on the Mi 12 Ultra, will sport a 50 megapixel primary sensor, whereas lower variants might feature the previously reported 200 megapixel sensor.
This should come as no surprise, Xiaomi has always shied away from using extra-high-res sensors, on its Ultra model. For example, The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro offered 108 Megapixel cameras, but Xiaomi opted for a 50 Megapixel Omnivision sensor on the Mi 10 Ultra. Similarly, while the Mi 11 uses that same 108 Megapixel camera, the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra featured Samsung's 50 Megapixel GN2,a sensor that's a lot better than the 108 Megapixel Isocell HMX on the vanilla Mi 11. Xiaomi, like the  Apple, recognizes that megapixels don't at all translate into better performance, and always preferred to use better quality sensors on their flagships. And it seems, they will do the same with Mi 12 as well.
