We're just hours away from a major easing of restrictions with hotspot suburbs set to play by the same rules as the rest of Sydney. It's thanks to our vaccination rate which is ticking higher by the day. 82 percent have now had at least one shot. 52 percent are fully-vaxxed. But in a stark reminder of the dangers, 13 more people lost their lives in our deadliest day.
From 12:01am tonight, COVID-19 restrictions in the 12 council 'areas of concern' will align with other lockdown areas - except for the rules around authorised workers.
