The immensely powerful Krayt Dragon was a feared beast on the planet of tatooine. Over the course of their long lives, Krayt Dragons ingested stones which would be broken down over time by it's digestive system. If they ingested a kyber crystal it would create a Krayt Dragon Pearl. These Pearls were exceedingly valuable and were considered to be the greatest trophy that a monster hunter could acquire. If incorporated into a lightsaber, this saber produced an immensely powerful blade that emitted a strange howling sound when ignited. However, killing a Krayt Dragon was no easy task and it was even harder to correctly install the pearl into a lightsaber, making these sabers very rare.
