Canada: Rally in support of Afghan citizens takes place outside Ottawa parliament

Dozens of protesters rallying in support of Afghan citizens amid the Taliban takeover gathered at Parliament Hill in front of the parliament building in Ottawa on Saturday.

Supporters waved Afghanistan flags and held signs bearing slogans such as 'Afghan lives matter,' as they voiced their concern amid the evacuation of the country.

International evacuations continue in Afghanistan, with the deadline of August 31 having been established for all foreign nationals wishing to leave the country to be flown out, while the Taliban announced a ban on Afghans to leave the country.
