Kalimpong has been grappling with an acute garbage problem which has further led to blockage of drains and the dirt being carried over by the rainwater during the monsoon season making the roads difficult to walk on and leading to unhygienic conditions in the heart of the town. While the municipality has been putting in efforts to keep things in check and recently installed a waste incinerator, Kalimpong needs more than this as well as support from the community and authorities to win this difficult battle.
