Is this what the skirt looked like on the night?
The bodice pattern is done, and now back to the skirt! This month I'll clear up a couple of problems in the skirt pattern, and mock it up on a half size mannequin.
I've also tracked down a sketch of the guests at the ball, possibly including Mary Curzon in the Peacock Dress, so that we can see what the dress might have looked like in action on the night.
...all of which is terribly exciting, but I want you to go meta with this video aswell.
When you see that picture of the guests at the ball, what do you see? What does that image stand for? What does it mean? Does it make you... uneasy?
As we wrap up the story of the dress pattern and finally answer the biggest questions about how this dress was made, I think it's time for me to re-check what I'm really up to here... but that conversation will come next month.
