Some have money. Most are desperately poor. But millions are determined to get out. Nearly a quarter of Afghanistan, perhaps four million people, have fled the country. And, like the Afghani asylum seekers on board the Tampa, more are coming. It is an exodus of people - people desperate to find refuge in places like Australia. Life in Afghanistan is as bad as it gets. Ruined by war and ruled by the hardline Islamic Taliban, the country has been devastated by drought and international sanctions. As Liz Hayes reports, it's why the people smugglers are so hard to beat - the market for their services is huge and growing.
