1994 F350 idi turbo diesel fuel starvation problem solved

Symptoms were the truck would start just fine but under load the fuel light on the dash would go on and truck would stall. Root cause was the fuel input line turned soft and it would collapse on the input side of the fuel pump. Replaced the fuel line and the truck runs great.

My extremely low mileage F350 idi turbo was starving for fuel and stalling. Started easily, but a short drive down the road and the fuel filter light on dash would come on then the truck would stall. Wait five minutes and it would start again. Changed fuel filters to no avail.

Long story short—the rubber fuel line going to the fuel pump was collapsing and starving the motor for fuel. Replaced the hose and the problem was solved.

See video. I show you the defect in the fuel line that collapse in the video.

Update: the paint is pretty faded and dirty after 27 years sitting out in the elements. So, I grabbed a bottle of cleaner/polish/wax and a blue shop paper towel and rubbed off some oxidized paint and amazingly, the paint shined up very well. And yes, I power washed it first.
