Taliban Calls China Afghanistan’s ‘Friend’ as Beijing Plans Weighs Its Options Post US Exit

US exit from Afghanistan has created a lot of ripples across the geo-political situation in and around Afghanistan. Amid Taliban resurgence, China is worried about East Turkistan Islamic Movement gaining support in Afghanistan. While dealing with the Taliban, China has always been concerned about the terror group sheltering Uighur separatists. Taliban has however, called China Afghanistan’s friend and assured it wouldn’t host the Uighur militants.
