A lot of the times when you are in a workout routine, you start to lose the energy and motivation to stay consistent. That is why it is great to change things up, and challenge your comfort zone. It can be different for anyone as to what that may be, but today we are going to do some boxing to step out of my comfort zone. This is going to really help you with your fitness, and test your limits with cardio that doesn’t involve running.
Like with any workout, it is good to warm up. Especially when you are going to be doing a lot of movements, that is why we are going to do a joint warm up first. It is also a good way to get your heart rate up and get the blood flowing. When doing boxing, especially when throwing punches, it is good to warm up the punching motion so that you don’t pull a muscle in your shoulders. As you can see, this is a very intense warm up, depending on your current cardio conditioning. You know your limits, so try to push yourself as much as you can.
After you have blood flow in the muscles, you want to stretch out those muscles. That way when you throw hard punches, you don’t tweak your back or shoulders. If you can find someone to show you boxing and proper technique, that will help you learn the right form when challenging your comfort zone.
